According to the Lakers, the in-season tournament championship banner will be different from previous banners. It will be a different color and shape than the one that hangs in the existing Crypto.com Arena, and it will also make room for additional ones if the team wins the tournament in the future.

The decision comes after The Messenger's Arashi Markazi reported over the past 10 days that the Lakers had no plans to add an in-season tournament championship banner, as they have only hung banners honoring championships and Hall of Fame retirees.

While winning the In-Season Tournament is not more valuable than the Lakers' ultimate goal of winning their 18th championship this season, they are adding the banner to commemorate and remind us of their first championship.
